Bob Holland’s automotive remarketing journey is a story of resilience, faith, and determination. From a challenging early life marked by addiction and dropping out of high school to becoming a business owner and mentor in his field, Holland has built a career – and a company – rooted in perseverance, integrity, and service. Today, as the owner and CEO of RC Logistics LLC, he is known not just for moving vehicles efficiently, but for contributing to the industry with empathy and purpose.
From Trucking Roots to Entrepreneurial Success
Trucking and logistics run in Holland’s blood. “My dad, uncle, and cousins were truck drivers, so it just made sense to be a truck driver,” he recalls. His early career took him through a variety of roles, from unloading trailers to managing Dairy Queen stores, before he launched his first business at age 20. Though that venture eventually faltered due to personal struggles, Holland turned his life around, embracing faith at 25 and embarking on a professional path that would redefine his life. “Clean for nearly 30 years now, I went to truck driving school and embarked on a successful career in the industry,” he says.
Holland spent years driving, dispatching, and managing operations before discovering car hauling through a personal connection. “At the end of the first day, I said, ‘Give me a year. I’ll buy a truck and I’ll build a company.’ And that’s what I did.” Early on, he faced financial hurdles, but his father-in-law stepped in, cashing out his 401(k) to invest in Holland’s vision. “The partnership was simple: he provided the money, I handled operations, and he trusted me not to lose it,” Holland recalls. “Even when I was struggling, he kept assuring me, ‘This is God’s will.'” Well before his father-in-law passed away two years ago, Holland had repaid that trust in full. He continues to provide support for his mother-in-law today, honoring the faith and belief his father-in-law placed in him.
Serving with Purpose, Integrity, and Care
Even with early successes, challenges persisted. By 2017, Holland decided to pivot RC Logistics from an asset-based model to a brokerage, selling off trucks and trailers to eliminate debt. “After the challenges I faced with the trucks, I have a greater understanding of carriers’ daily struggles,” he explains. “This allows me to have empathy and, honestly, helps me build better relationships with the carriers. This, in turn, gives me the ability to provide better service to our clients.” That decision paid off – RC Logistics today serves a diverse range of clients with transparency and integrity, a testament to Holland’s commitment to doing business the right way.
Holland’s leadership philosophy is rooted in faith and principle. “Colossians 3:23 says, ‘And whatsoever we do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.'” he says. “I strive to live by this in business, treating everyone with respect and operating as if I am doing it for the Lord Himself.” This principle underpins RC Logistics’ vision: “Serving with Purpose, Integrity, and Care…every interaction is an opportunity to give back, to operate with integrity, and to reflect Christlike character in the marketplace.” Holland sees his company as more than a vehicle broker; it’s a place where employees can grow, support their families, and thrive in a family-like environment.
While Holland finds great satisfaction in his work, he admits challenges remain. Yet, the rewards of leadership, like making decisions, guiding a team, and creating opportunities for others, keep him motivated. “I love being in charge and knowing good or bad, I was the one who made the decisions. I also love being able to provide a job to people that allows them to support their families,” he adds.
Faith, Family, and Industry Insight
Holland’s advice to those newer to the industry emphasizes respect, reputation, and empathy. “Treat carriers and customers with respect. Your reputation is your most important asset,” he says. He also stresses the importance of matching people to roles that fit their personalities, drawing from lessons learned during his early supervisory years. By understanding how individuals work best, leaders can foster stronger, more productive teams – a lesson Holland applies every day at RC Logistics.
In addition to professional success, Holland maintains a vibrant personal life grounded in faith and family. He serves as assistant pastor at his church, teaching Bible studies, helping with a recovery group, and supporting church programs alongside his wife, who directs the ladies’ ministry and participates on the music team. Holland also prioritizes intentional family time with his two teenage children, setting regular one-on-one appointments to ensure meaningful connection.
Forward-thinking about the industry, Holland is already preparing for technology-driven changes. “I think AI is coming at us hard, and we better start planning now how to use it, so it doesn’t run us over,” he notes. His active involvement with the Automotive Remarketing Alliance reflects his commitment to networking, learning, and contributing to the wider industry. “I joined AA to network and introduce RC Logistics to a wider audience. I have found this group to be a kind and welcoming group of people.”
Bob Holland’s story is more than a professional profile – it’s a blueprint for resilience, faith, and principled leadership. Through RC Logistics LLC, he has built not just a business, but a culture of care, integrity, and service that touches clients, carriers, and employees alike. In a fast-paced, ever-evolving industry, Holland stands as a leader who proves that success is measured not only in transactions, but in trust, relationships, and the lives he helps uplift every day.
